We Are What We Create [Poem] By- Erie French

We look at each other hard
Our eyes speaking fire
Listening with ears barred
Pushing each other down to climb higher

Pain and suffering screaming in teary-eyes
Just asking for relief, looking for a friend
But we don't recognize the cries
And a helping hand we don't lend

But when will we learn to love
We are all fighting the same war
But instead of raising white flags and releasing a dove
We continue to beg to fight some more

Things just seem so rough
And not just around the edges
But when times do get tough
We must not succumb to what is alleged

Life will always be subjective
And widely open for interpretation
But we must always keep our main objective
Focused on positive without reservation

As a people we must choose wisely
Or suffer an irreparable fate
We are not all made to soar highly
But that's no excuse, we are what we create

So many people "listen with their ears barred"... It's so true!
"Just asking for relief, looking for a friend
But we don't recognize the cries
And a helping hand we don't lend." I always try to lend that helping hand... So just cry and I'll be there! :)
