Profile Marine Organism
Sea turtles -- One of oldest species on Earth, these amazing marine reptiles embody the qualities of endurance and the ability to see a long journey through to its end. When I was 12 and lived in Florida, I watched a hulking leatherback lay her eggs in the sand late one night under a crimson moon. That's when I knew this remarkable creature was my totem.
Ocean Parcel
The Southeast Atlantic, especially the Georgia coast. This 100-mile-long stretch of coast is one of the least developed in the Atlantic and in the Southeast/Gulf region. Georgians love their ocean, coasts, and rivers, and are doing all they can to protect them. Nearly pristine Sapelo Island, GA, is a NOAA National Estuarine Research Reserve and a National Wildlife Refuge. And mighty pretty!

Tell me about your OFL experiences!

Hi OFL Participants:
I will be writing a followup story for the National Ocean Service home page and would like to hear about your experiences in FL and CA. Let me know what you learn about the ocean and one another, anything that means something special to you. Thanks! Pam, 3:30 Wed., July 29

Hi Pam, That is totally fine with me. I went on the California trip. Writing that sounds like fun, what kind of writing does it involve?

The Galapagos are a great dream trip to have. They truly are beautiful islands, with a wonderful ocean surrounding them! :)
