Yeah, I'm finishing up....I feel kinda stupid with this big suitcase. Oh, ouch. 1 am?! I'm not going to say anything more.....
Can't wait to meet you!
Gina McGuire said… Bahrain sounds cool! It has a lot in common with Hawaii. It's a very small community and everyone seems to know eachother. We're all a big family, or 'ohana in Hawaiian. I live on the rainy side of the Big Island where there's a lot of forest and it all looks green. If you drove to Kona side the area is drier and it's more like a city. The ocean is so beautiful. On this side of the island there are more white sand beaches and the humpback whales travel through off shore during the winter. Maui island is surrounded by white sand beaches and gorgeous blue waters. When you go under the water you can hear the whale's song. Anyway, I could go on forever.
What kind of hobbies do you have? Do you play any sports?
That sounds amazing! I've always wanted to know what its like to live in a place where everyone knows each other.
And oxnard (a city in southern california where I live) is a pretty big town, though not as big as L.A. I like it because it is kind of an unknown beach city, so it's not very crowded. Plus there are so many different people that all get along
Amira Ahmed said… I love the rain, too :) It calms me and puts me to sleep better than anything....
We're going to be staying on Santa Cruz for I think 3 or 4 days, not too long. The trip is coming up faster and faster--have you started packing? Because I haven't yet :D
Oh, you want to sleep in a tent too? I do also, maybe we could sleep in the same one! Yeah, I just emailed Claire Fackler....her email is Claire. Fackler@noaa.gov and told her I was interested, except that it would be fun to tent with others--you know?
I wouldn't worry about the bugs, when I've been to Cali the bugs aren't an issue. Even in southern CA I haven't heard much about the bugs. And the weather (are you worried about rain or cold?) can easily be taken care of. If it rains, the tents have rain covers and we wont get wet as long as we're on some higher ground and not at the base of a hill. Then if it's cold, usually the sleeping bags keep most of it out (as long as you have a pretty good sleeping bag), so, I hope that's helpful! You should do it, it'll be nice!
